we are constantly in search of light
In this light, we believe we find happiness
We wander around searching; ignoring what is already within our grasp
There’s an abyss
We find it and in it we believe we have found this light we so desire
Leaning so close to the edge, we eventually fall in
Falling into the none ending darkness that our minds made us believe was light
At the bottom we find nothing but even more darkness
Our search was in vain.
We look above our heads, searching for a way out.
And it is in that painful moment that we find the light our souls yearned for
It is now right above us
The exact place we stood before the fall.
*This is a poem describing how we search for happiness and light in the wrong places and end up in an ”only if I knew” dilemma.
